Church Sermon Interrupted: Pastor, Hero Deacon Thwart Gunman in Allegheny County




A shocking incident unfolded this past Sunday at the Jesus Dwelling Place Church in North Braddock, Pennsylvania.  During a sermon delivered by Pastor Glenn Germany, a gunman, identified as 26-year-old Bernard Polite of Braddock, entered the church and approached the altar.


Dramatic Standoff:

Church video captured the chilling scene.  Polite allegedly pointed a gun directly at Pastor Germany. Thankfully, the gun malfunctioned and did not fire. In a heroic act, Deacon Clarence McCallister tackled Polite, preventing further violence.  Pastor Germany and Deacon McCallister subdued the suspect until state troopers arrived.

Motive and Mystery:

Police are still investigating the motive behind the attack.  Reports indicate Polite claimed to have been acting on "divine orders." Adding another layer of mystery, authorities discovered a deceased body in Polite's residence while responding to the church incident. The identity of the deceased and their connection to Polite remain undisclosed.

Legal Aftermath:

Polite faces a multitude of charges, including attempted assault and battery with a deadly weapon.  The investigation into the deceased individual and their connection to Polite is ongoing.

Community in Shock:

The incident has left the Jesus Dwelling Place Church community shaken.  Pastor Germany, in a statement, expressed gratitude for Deacon McCallister's bravery and thanked God for preventing a tragedy.  The church is offering counseling services to members impacted by the ordeal.
