Seattle, WA – May 21, 2024 – Boeing issued a statement today in response to the emergency landing of Singapore Airlines flight SQ321, a Boeing 777-300ER, which encountered severe turbulence en route from London to Singapore.
"We are deeply saddened to learn of the one passenger who tragically lost their life in this incident," the statement reads. "Our sincerest condolences go out to the family and friends of the deceased during this difficult time. We also extend our well-wishes for a full recovery to all those who were injured."
The statement goes on to say that Boeing is "in contact with the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) and Singaporean authorities to offer our full support in the investigation into the cause of the turbulence." The company emphasized its commitment to the safety of passengers and crew and stated that it would be "reviewing all available data to understand the factors that may have contributed to this event."
Singapore Airlines previously confirmed that 30 people required hospital treatment following the emergency landing in Bangkok.
